MINUTES OF AGM HELD ON SUNDAY 31st JANUARY 2010
AT PORTOBELLO INDOOR BOWLING CLUB 13:00HRS

After Chairman Joe McGregor brought the meeting to order,

  

ITEMS DISCUSSED AT MEETING :-

 

1. FINANCIAL REPORT – Report shows that Club outgoings for season 2009 stood at £1016, of which £430 was made up of under attended trips. Unfortunately the two requested trips to be added to the 2009 calendar, Pollack trip to Oban (February) and Tope trip to Portpatrick (September), were the biggest disappointment, there's no point in the Club trying different venues then members not attending!

 

2. TRIP CALENDAR 2010 – Committee confirmed that PER HEAD PRICES for the trips at BERWICK and ARBROATH during 2010 would be set at £20 (with shortfalls paid from Club funds) as long as there were a minimum of 10 Adults aboard and also if total cost of these Charters stayed at present cost of (£230) .

 

It was decided, by the members present, that the monthly trips would start in March with a trip to Loch Etive (self hires), April and May would be filled with trips to Oban (Skate) and Girvan (Pollack), June's trip would be to Arbroath, July would be at Berwick, August was to be left free, at the moment, to keep tabs on where was fishing best at this time, September would see the Club make the trip down to Drummore (Tope/Pollack), October would see us return to Berwick and lastly in November to Loch Etive, this trip being our annual Competition Day.

 

Rod Hire costs on Oban Skate trip would be covered by Club funds as decided at last years AGM.

 

3. FISH OF THE YEAR 2009 – All Club Members present agreed with secretary Colin's recommendation that Robert Robb's 15lb 12oz Coalfish caught during the Clubs summer 2009 trip to Norway should be the Fish of the Year for 2009.

 

4. OFFICE BEARERS FOR SEASON 2010 – Attending Members voted for keeping the same Office Bearers as last year :-

SECRETARY – COLIN PENMAN (assisted by Roland McCraw)
TREASURER – JEFF JOHNSTON
TRUSTEES – ROBERT ROBB & BILL JOHNSTON

  

5. A.O.C.B. –

 

• Club Membership Fees would remain the same as season 2009 - £15 for Adults and £10 for O.A.P.'s and Juniors.
• As member Kenny Scott had retired from AMT Ltd and was no longer able to sell a weekly Bonusball Sheet, it was decided that the weekly winning amount on the Club Bonusball would be reduced from £12 down to £10 which would be hopefully be greater increased with New Club Members joining in.
• Robert Robb suggested that the Club should look at the possibility of setting up a Club page on Facebook for free rather than continuing paying for the present website which increased to £97 for season 2010.
• Magazine subscription, which appeared on Club Outgoings would not be renewed as Secretary Colin pointed out that this in the past was to aid in the booking of skippers and for the ordering of tackle (finding best deals) which can now be done online.
